A French politician has signed a petition advocating for the Bank of France to buy Bitcoin (BTC) and begin amassing Cryptocurrency to diversify its investments.

Jean Michel Mis is a member of the lower house of the French parliament and is also the president of a blockchain development firm. Mis has the ambition of making France a Crypto friendly country. If his petition is successful, it will be raised to the French Senate.

The petition was initially organised by the CEO of Ark Ecosystem, Francois-Xavier Thoorens earlier this month. It mentions parties such as Tesla and Microstrategy as big businesses taking a strong interest in digital assets.

A segment of the petition calls for the approval for the adaption of the French Monetary and Financial Code to grant Banque de France, the central bank of France the capacity and legal framework to buy, sell and hold bitcoin and other digital assets that are deemed appropriately advantageous.

Currently, the petition has attained 408 out of the 100,000 signatures required. If the target is met, it will be pushed to the senate floor.
